College Football Predictions Week 10 2018

We've got MACTION tonight!  Not a ton of real intriguing games this weekend, besides seeing if Notre Dame can stay unbeaten heading to Northwestern, and if LSU can finally manage to slow down the Tide's attack.

College Football Power Rankings Week 10

Not much changes for the top 25 except Clemson moves itself into the potential playoff picture.  Georgia remains in based on the strength of their schedule and that their one loss was to the number 6 LSU Tigers.  Notre Dame I think if they win out will be a playoff team, but the program thinks their early season narrow wins are a real drag if they drop to Syracuse or USC.

Its time for the Buffs to move on from Darrin Chiaverini as a Coordinator

The Buffs offense is horribly stagnant, and its lasted for years too long.  I had personally thought Brian Lindgren was the issue but even with his departure the offense continues to underwhelm for the talent that it has.  The offense started hot but over the last four games has hit huge bumps that its struggled to overcome, with today's performance being possibly the worst yet.

Against Oregon State today the Buffs punted 6 times, twice the average the Beavers force and that's being generous since the rest of their PAC 12 opponents had punted only a combined 6 times.  The offense scored 27 points today on 15 drives.  There has been almost no innovation in play calling, as the same formation is used over and over again for the same play with no wrinkles.  Travon McMillian outside of his big run averaged just 3 yards a carry, largely because Oregon State was able to key in and crash down on run plays over and over again.  Read Option plays were working, but there were only a smattering to help ease the pressure.

This offense has to get Viska back this week to have a shot, but even then it needs Chiaverini to make some adaptations throughout the game and to bring some creativity back to the offense.

College Football Predictions Week 9 2018

Put up Week for Texas as they should be able to get after a down Oklahoma State, while the Pac-12 North battle heats up with Wazzu facing a tough contest against Stanford.  Can Georgia overcome its weaknesses in a spotlight game against the Gators who have proven to be resilient, and how tight can Air Force keep their game against Boise State?

NFL Predictions Week 8 2018

No real surprising results this week, except maybe that the program doesnt see the Bills getting crushed further.  Should be a chalky week overall, although I've thought that in the past this season as well.

NFL Power Rankings Week 8 2018

The Patriots continue to inch their way up, while the Chiefs claim the top spot with a decisive win against the Bengals.  I'm really not certain that the Seahawks deserve to be as high as they are, but they are 3-1 the last 4 weeks, and they pummeled the hapless Raiders.  This week doesn't provide a lot of proving matches, besides the Saints and Vikings as Minnesota tries to find some consistency.

College Football Rankings Week 9 2018

Alabama is the clear cut number 1 team right now.  The rest of it can all be pretty well muddled thought. I'm very surprised Texas is so low currently.  I also dont think Mississippi State should be there, nor should Purdue be a top 10 team.

NFL Predictions Week 7 2018

This is a week to find out how real some teams are. The Pats face a surprisingly tough test against the Bears, while the Chiefs have to take in a mad Bengals team. The Panthers and Eagles play an important NFC game. I really don't know if I believe the Jets beating the Vikings like that, but Minnesota has to answer the bell here.

College Football Predictions Week 8 2018

This is a week for a lot of predicted lopsided victories but I've got interest in several games. Can Purdue stick with Ohio State?  How do Oregon and Washington respond after their entertaining game last week?  Can Auburn right themselves after a train wreck loss last week?

NFL Power Rankings Week 7 2018

The Ravens take a move up for dismantling the Titans in impressive fashion.  The top 5 are all within a field goal of each other, and I would bet the Patriots move up another few slots now that the offense seems to be back to full operation mode. The Raiders continue to bring up the dregs of the league, and it might be a little intentional so Gruden can get the QB of his choosing this year.

College Football Power Rankings Week 8 2018

With carnage week felling many of the title contenders, we have new power rankings this week.  The murder machine that is the Crimson Tide would be roughly a touchdown favorite over any of the other teams in the top 5.  The most surprising item here to me is Clemson still sitting out of the playoff with Georgia remaining in.  The program currently is not respecting their wins over Georgia Tech (60th), Wake Forest (74th) and Georgia Southern (65th) right now.  I'm really surprised though that Notre Dame is still outside the top 10.  They've been uneven but I had thought they would be ahead of Florida still.
