NFL Power Rankings Week 6

We've moved now to having no preseason predictions in the systems anymore for the NFL, and there are some surprising results.  Noone would really bat an eye at the Chiefs and Rams being near the top, but the Ravens and Bears being in the top 5 might have some people shaking their heads.  The Bears get a slight bump from blowing out Tampa, but they're still 4-0 and have given up more than 20 points in just that season opener.  The Ravens also have played excellent defense, but I think they're headed for a pretty solid drop because that offense is just too inconsistent.  The Saints look to be rounding into form a bit more, but that defense still has a lot to prove itself.  I would also expect the Pats to start making their way back up the rankings, as the offense now seems to be rounding into form.

College Football Week 7 Power Rankings 2018

On to Week 7.  A conspicuous absence is Miami from even the top 25 this week after moving to number 3.  But I made a small tweak to the program after I thought it was giving a bit too much credit for blowing out low ranking or FCS teams, and I think it makes more sense now given that Miami looked drastically bad against FSU for most of the game.  It also removes now all preseason predictions from the system.  This tweak sees 2 SEC teams and 2 B1G teams into the playoffs, with Clemson still sitting just outside range.

Gloomhaven Journals: The Raiders Camp

Another weekend another shot at a scenario.  This weekend saw us come the closest to losing a mission we had been at.  It came down to the Mindtheif and my Cragheart finishing off the last few enemies with me having one turn more if we failed with a short rest to get it.

Spring, Time of the Flower, Year of the Courtesan
We decided it was time to make good on our new patronesses promise of pay if we removed some Inox raiders from the nearby woods.  We should have known something was up from this though when she didn't alert the guards to a potential raider camp a few days from the city, but the first job had come through and she seemed earnest enough.  We made our way to the Inox camp without any real issues.  It was near dark, and so we decided after a brief reconnaissance to perform a surprise strike when the sun went down.  The beginning of the battle went smoothly, and we devastated their perimeter guards and any warriors that made their way out of the huts.  We quickly moved to the main lodge, hoping to kill the leadership and cripple this group.  There though we found to our horror women and children.  This was not a Raider camp, but just a small community of Inox in the woods.  Immediately we withdrew, trying to escape without killing any more members, but having to to save our lives.   We hastily made our way back to town and confronted the woman in red.  She tossed us a payment, and said they were raiders, it didn't matter that there were families there.  I cannot fathom what exactly this woman wants, but I dont think I can bring myself to work with her again.

We were contacted by a member of the city guard as we left her estate, who let us know they were investigating her and that we could be of some help.  We took her card but have not yet decided if we will assist the guard or not.  While I dislike this woman, so far she has not done anything wrong.

NFL Predictions Week 5 2018

After a great week of football last week, this week brings some potential for more craziness.  I think the Pats and Colts wont be this close due to the Colts huge injury list this week.  We'll also get to see if the Dolphins can right the ship in a game they are heavily favored against.

College Football Predictions Week 6 2018

This is a pretty big week for a lot of teams in the SEC.  Mississippi State has a tough home test against a very good Aubrun team while South Carolina needs to beat a talented Mizzou team.  This is also a week to see if Kentucky can take one from Texas A&M and prove they;re a top 15 team.  Clemson should be able to put away Wake Forest on the road, but QB troubles might put them into a tough spot.

NFL Power Rankings Week 5 2018

This week we see preseason predictions basically fade out of the program, and we get to see where everyone is at so far.  There's only 4 weeks of data, so some of it is a bit noisy.  The Bears likely aren't a top 10 team at the end of the year, but they blew out the Bucs and the defense might be the best in the league right now.  The Dolphins take a tremendous tumble after being exposed by the Pats, who continue to be the kings of the AFC East.

College Football Power Rankings Week 6

Week 6 is here and we're almost out of any preseason adjustment for the program.  The Top 25 is starting to really round into form, with a few questions but it looks pretty solid.  I question Miami inside the top 4, but they've blown out their bad opponents and lost the opening week to a pretty good LSU team.  I think they'll end up falling out, but if they trounce FSU this week they might deserve some thought that they're ahead of Clemson in the ACC, especially if the Tigers are still shuffling QBs for a bit.
