What a ridiculous game. For three and a half quarters the Denver offense was lifeless and adrift, while the defense was slowly wearing down and breaking. Then, Phillip Lindsay breaks a huge one, and Jerry Jeudy light up Drew Lock on the sideline. From that point on, the offense gained 100% of their potential yards on three straight drives, including the game winning one. This game that might have served as a referendum on Drew Lock's potential in Denver leaves more questions than answers, as the Broncos will look to next week to see if they can find some consistency.
A rough game for the team all around. The offense struggled, not gaining more than 23% of their potential yards on a drive until the third quarter when Phil broke loose a 55 yard run to make it a game again. Through the first three quarters, Drew Lock had 5 successful pass plays based on the success rate formula. In the fourth, he had 11 on 19 attempts.
The defense held stout through the first half, with a regrettable pair of quick touchdowns to end it pulling off some of the shine. By the second half though they were gassed, allowing the Chargers to score or flip field position on 4 of their 6 drives. A key turnover though by Bryce Callahan, who played an amazing game, kept the Broncos in it.
